The Geisha.

New painting just finished.

The Geisha.

First I drew out the idea and main features with charcoal pencil.
Once I did that you just add the details and I used watercolor on most of it and then Acrylic paints on mostly the hair.

Suminagashi Art. Failed attempt but still fun!!

Alright it's been about a week since I posted a project and I promise Ill get better about posting more.
Well I went to Blick Art Store because I saw on YouTube this technique done which is an old Japanese technique called Suminagashi. Now I thought this may work on a canvas but it doesn't seem to turn out so well but with this kit paper works just fine. I'm going to be doing more research to find out what will look good and work well with the canvas. But in the mean time here are some pictures!!

Was a fail, but after some research it will be pretty awesome!! But defiantly try this kit on paper!

Hope this gives you an inspiration to try this.

Always lots of love,
JoyLeigh

Acrylic Peacock Painting

The Acrylic Peacock Painting

I used one canvas for this painting. For the texture I used Resin Sand and painted it on the whole canvas and used the Gloss Super Heavy Gel for the body of the Peacock and for the circles.

The colors I used were Iridescent Bronze(Golden brand), Winsor Violet(Winsor & Newton brand), Brilliant Blue(Liquitex brand), Permanent Rose(Winsor & Newton), Mixing White(Winsor & Newton), Silver(Basics brand), Parchment(Artist's Loft brand).

Like I mentioned before I used the Sand Resin painted it all over the canvas then the gel paste for the body of the Peacock with a small brush. After I made the body of the Peacock I used the other end of a brush and  made lines threw the sand to make it look like feather's. Then I took the Gel and made the circles for the colorful part of the feather's.

Do smaller circles closer to the body and bigger as they go out to give the illusion of the feathers going out.

After the gel was dry I started painting the body but took Brilliant Blue and Mixing white and made a light blue and put it in the corner of the body then started mixing the Silver in and then the silver in the middle then mixed theViolet with Mixing White and Silver and move up. Take the Iridescent Bronze and went in the outside of the head and the top. For the circles use the same color and go around the outside and take Brilliant Blue and fill in the rest of the circle's.

&& all finished!!

The Heart Acrylic Painting

This is the Heart painting which is similar to the last post.

The only thing I used different was instead of the molding paste I used Gloss Super Heavy Gel and of coarse different colors.

So I used Red, Silver, and Black. Two Canvas's.

I started with forming the heart first.

Then I painted the squares but this time I did them horizontal and diagonal. Paint them carefully around the heart.

Finished with out the paint on. Note the gel does take longer to dry than the molding paste does.

This is the finished product.

I did the out side edges darker with the black and blend it in with the silver but with this one it was not meant to be even. I also mixed a little silver in with the red to give it a little more shine.

Also, all of the supplies I was able to find at Michaels craft store.

Thanks so much I hope you enjoyed this painting!!

Paintings you can do too!!

Hello everyone!! So I did a couple paintings and I was inspired by some other acrylic painting I had seen on the internet and decided to try doing some myself and actually is a lot simpler than you might think.

This is what it looked like when I was done with it.

I bought 3 canvas's, Molding paste, Gold Cooper and Bronze acrylic paint.

So I started off with JUST the molding paste and continue forming the squares outward.

Continue doing this in the same pattern like all canvas's were connected.

After your done and the molding paste is dry start with the gold and paint it in the center.

Start with the cooper and blend with the gold then continue with the bronze and blend with the cooper and blend it in so it gets darker as you go.

&& that is it! :))

Much love, JoyLeigh
